Reverend Monsignor Anthony J. D'Angelico, Pastor, Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, Southampton, died on Thursday, August 22, 2013.
Monsignor D'Angelico was born on June 14, 1947, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is the son of the late Anthony D'Angelico and the late Madeline Perrucci. Monsignor D'Angelico attended Resurrection of Our Lord Parochial School, Philadelphia, and Bishop Egan High School, Fairless Hills, before entering Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary.
Monsignor D'Angelico was ordained on May 18, 1974, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Philadelphia, by His Eminence John Cardinal Krol, and named Chaplain to His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI on October 24, 2009. Monsignor D'Angelico served as Parochial Vicar,
Saint Donato Parish, Philadelphia; Saint Cecilia Parish, Philadelphia; Saint Martha Parish, Philadelphia; Saint Dominic Parish, Philadelphia; Saint Clement Parish, Philadelphia; and Saint Paul Parish, Philadelphia. Monsignor D'Angelico served as Pastor at Annunciation B.V.M. Parish, Philadelphia, from 1996 through 2003. He was named Pastor at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, Southampton, in June 2003.
The Reception of the Body will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, on Sunday, August 25, 2013, at 4:00 PM, followed by a viewing. A parish Mass will be held at 7:00 PM. Most Reverend Charles J. Chaput, O.F.M. Cap. will celebrate a Funeral Mass for Monsignor D'Angelico at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, on Monday, August 26, 2013, at 11:00 AM. A viewing will be held beginning at 9:00 AM. Concelebrating the Funeral Mass will be Reverend Monsignor Thomas P. Flanigan, Reverend John J. Kilgallon, Reverend Monsignor Joseph J. Nicolo, Reverend Monsignor Robert J. Powell, and Reverend Robert G. Suskey. Monsignor Nicolo will be the homilist.
Monsignor D'Angelico is survived by his cousins. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.
