Deacon Leo T. Gladnick, Permanent Deacon, Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Warminster, died on Wednesday, September 4, 2013.
Deacon Gladnick was born on August 12, 1928, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended Blessed Virgin Mary Parochial School, Darby, and West Catholic High School, Philadelphia. He also received a B.S. degree in Education from Temple University and a M.A. degree in Education from Villanova University. Leo spent his whole life in the world of education both as a teacher and in administration. He retired from the Hatboro-Horsham School District in 1992.
Deacon Gladnick was ordained a permanent deacon on May 25, 1986, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Philadelphia, by His Eminence John Cardinal Krol. He served at Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Warminster, from 1986 through 1992. He also served at Ascension of Our Lord Parish, Philadelphia, from 1992 through 2012. In October 2012, he was reassigned back to Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Warminster.
A viewing will be held on Monday, September 9, 2013, at Nativity of Our Lord Church, Warminster, from 6:00-8:00 PM. A viewing will also be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, from 9:30-10:30 AM. Most Reverend Robert P. Maginnis will celebrate Deacon Gladnick's Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Concelebrating the Funeral Mass will be Reverend Angelo Citino and Reverend John C. Eckert. The Deacon of the Mass will be Deacon Edward Konarski and the Deacon Chaplains will be Deacon Clement McGovern and Deacon Robert Stewart.. Father Citino will be the homilist.
Deacon Gladnick is survived by his wife, Dolores, two sons, four daughters, and fifteen grandchildren. Interment will be at Saint John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.
