Deacon David N. Fosbenner, Permanent Deacon, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, Morton, died on Saturday, September 13, 2014, after a brief illness.
Deacon Fosbenner was born on September 14, 1944, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Lansdowne-Aldan High School in 1963. He was the owner/president of DNF Trucking Company, LLC. Deacon Fosbenner was ordained a Permanent Deacon on June 5, 2010 at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Philadelphia, by His Eminence Cardinal Justin Rigali and was assigned to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, Morton.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Morton, from 8:30 AM until 11:45 AM. Reverend Monsignor John Savinski will celebrate the Funeral Mass at noon. Concelebrants will be Reverend Gerald Carey, Reverend Monsignor Daniel J Kutys, Reverend John Lyons, Reverend Monsignor Richard Skelly, Reverend Richard Smith, Reverend Robert Vogan, and Reverend Dennis Weber, S.d.C. Assisting will be Deacon Fosbenner's classmates. Deacon of the Word will be Deacon John Farrell, and the Deacon of the Eucharist will be Deacon William Cella. Deacons of Communion will be Deacon Michael Pascarella and Deacon Edward Duess. Deacon Ronald Kelley will also be assisting. Monsignor John Savinski will be the homilist.
Deacon Fosbenner is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jo Ann; their four children: Jodi, David, Jr., Casey, Kevin, and 11 grandchildren. Interment is private.
