Decree of Promulgation
In accord with the prescripts of canon 8, §2, canon 29, and canon 466 of the Code of Canon Law, as well as Chapter V of the Apostolic See's "Instruction on Diocesan Synods" (March 19, 1997), I hereby DECREE the promulgation of the attached "Decrees of the Tenth Synod of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia" as particular law for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. I further DECREE the publication of the attached "Declarations of the Tenth Synod of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia," as brief affirmations of the themes discussed during the Synod.
Given at the Curia of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia on this 29th day of May, in the Year of Our Lord 2003, the Solemnity of the Ascension of Our Lord, and published on this day in the Archdiocesan newspaper, The Catholic Standard and Times, with the attached decrees and declarations. This decree is effective one month from this day, on the 29th day of June, in the Year of Our Lord 2003, the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, Secondary Patrons of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. All things to the contrary notwithstanding.
