The Office of the Vicar for Hispanic Catholics works towards empowering communities of all ages and ethnic backgrounds in particular the Hispanic community. We help the community realize their potential in these areas of advocacy, spiritual, social, educational, and cultural, as well as social justice, human development, educational and spiritual formation in conjunction with the offices within the Archdiocese of Philadelphia as well as other local organizations within the five counties. Much of our efforts are directed to a more complete inclusion of the Hispanic community into the existing fabric of our society with the belief that the fabric will be further enriched by a wider inclusion of our Hispanic community. Working as an Americorps VISTA has really opened my eyes to the realities of the world after college. It was very important to me to find work that I felt was meaningful and worth doing, and I have found that this year as a VISTA. I've learned more about web design through helping with the OVHC website, I've learned more Spanish, and I've learned more about God's call to me to love my neighbors.
